Hackett Tuxedos

Many of you will know I have a penchant for dressing up, so it should come as no surprise that I fell in love with these tuxedos from Hackett, on display at The Savoy Hotel prior to last weekend's BAFTAs. Upon entering the hotel room at The Savoy Hotel, I immediately felt underdressed, especially having been pacing around London in an exhausted mess. (Is it possible to be sartorially emasculated by a mannequin?) My favourite, of course, is the burgundy velvet tux with accentuated labels, which exudes an undeniable wow-factor when accompanied with a white dress shirt and black bow tie.

It's that time of year again...

Never mind Valentine's Day. This Friday, my heart belongs to fashion, as London Fashion Week returns for another bountiful season of runway shows and outrageous street style. It is unquestionably one of my favourite moments of the year.

Pure London

Pure London is the UK's leading fashion trade show, where hundreds of womenswear and accessory labels exhibit their designs to more than ten-thousand buyers. Held inside the vast Olympia London, the three-day event is an opportunity for these companies to do business directly with potential stockists, and make those all-important sales decisions, which will see their brands flourish.

I was graciously invited to Pure London by Mod Dolly, which is among a collective of up-and-coming British designers supported this season by UK Trade & Investment. With so many brands fighting for attention under one roof, the decisions of any fashion buyer in attendance must be tough - provided they can successfully navigate themselves through the overwhelming labyrinth of stands and displays.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob, an engineer, outside the John Snow pub in Soho, after he and his friends jokingly photobombed another of my photographs on Broadwick Street. I love his rugged style, a blend of biker fashion meets Australian Outback. He wears boots from Lidl, Marks & Spencer trousers, coat from Dry As A Bone, leather waistcoat from an online biker shop, and his hat is by The Swagman.

Kay Kwok AW14

Kay Kwok combines a futuristic element into his autumn/winter collection, with designs inspired by outer space and extra terrestrial activity. The Hong Kong born designer has superimposed abstract digital prints onto clean-cut blazers, sweaters and overcoats, worn over winter staple polo-neck jumpers. Among the crazier designs are oversized geometric discs, which I can only imagine are for display purpose only.
