Mary Benson SS16

The Sun & 13 Cantons pub in Soho was transformed into a paper cavern for Mary Benson's SS16 presentation, scribbles and poetic musings littering the floor. The collection is titled "Letters From The Darkest Corners Of My Heart...", in which the garments - as much as the décor - speak of heartbreak and "love sick intoxicated feelings" through provocative, handwritten notes. Teardrops and weeping mascara are equally prominent imagery in this eccentric collection, seen also in the models' make-up, as well as a collaborative capsule collection of sunglasses by accessories label Tatty Devine, decorated with Swarovski crystal tears.

Clio Peppiatt SS16

"Kiss The Future" by South London womenswear designer Clio Peppiatt is a playful and vibrant SS16 collection, brushed generously with elements of sci-fi and 70s disco. Space-themed motifs and faux fur were combined with snakeskin and leopard prints, where against a backdrop of metallic streamers, retro TVs, glowing cubes and checkerboard flooring, it were as if the models were players in a retro, future-themed arcade game.

Christmas in Kennington

Christmas is a funny time of the year. We hang up an obscene amount of bright lights and garish decorations, we listen to cheesy music we wouldn't dare listen to any other time of the year, we throw out all our inhibitions when it comes to food, and we feel inclined to wear knitwear bearing reindeers and snowflakes. But hey, I guess that's what makes Christmas so ridiculously enjoyable.

The festive spirit is in full swing in my new London home. I'm afraid my friends and I don't have the pleasure of living behind one of the quaint, wreath covered doors of historic Cleaver Square, but we do have a Christmas tree that turns the living room into an instant rave, and a delicious Christmas dinner in the making, the thought of which is already making me salivate.

Little Shilpa SS16

Entitled "Madness of Muchness", Little Shilpa's SS16 presentation was a feast for the imagination. Set in the elegant private members club Library, where bookshelves line the walls, the collection echoed the characters of Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland", with fantastical headpieces and mixed fabric dresses that flaunted the Mumbai designer's intricacy and millinery talent.

Spin & Slide with BMW

Goodwood - Spin & Slide

I haven't had my driving licence for a full year yet, but somebody thought it would be a fantastic idea to teach me manouevres that - were I to attempt them on the UK roads - would most definitely land me in A&E / a police cell / a difficult conversation with my insurance provider. That said, I doubt my 10 year old run-around could even match half the power of the BMW M-series, in which I negotiated Goodwood's power sliding circuit.

Spin & Slide, one of a number of BMW Track Day Experiences at Goodwood Motor Circuit, replicates conditions on icy or slippery roads with a special low-grip surface. With the right amount of rev, traction control and timely turning, it's basically ballet in a BMW. By the end of my hour session, I had almost mastered this exhilirating art of driving, although my instructor did comment - not without reason - that I often played it too safe. Let's face it, would you think me a speed demon?

Of course, this being a fashion blog, I had hoped to steer some style into this feature by shooting my Spin & Slide ensemble, which had included Uniqlo Selvedge denim jeans, a Topman jersey blazer, and a Joseph Abboud scarf. However, any chance of a shoot was gracelessly blown away by 40mph winds. Not even my strongest hairspray could contend with the gusts and gales that threatened to knock over not only my tripod, but myself too. The one place you wanted to be that morning was inside a car, and thankfully there were plenty of those around.
