Dress-down menswear: Outfit #2
There are some workplaces which offer a "Dress-Down Friday", when employees can don a polo shirt and jeans instead of a suit and tie. At the company for which I am currently interning, every day is a dress-down day, as there isn't a particular dress code. That said, my employer - and anybody else for that matter - will never see me in tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt. Dressing down does not mean underdressing.

| DR MARTENS LANGSTON BOOTS / CHEAP MONDAY SKINNY JEANS / TOPMAN JUMPER |
For my second casual look, I am wearing an ensemble I often wear on days when I expect there to be a lot of walking, such as when I am out shooting street style around London. My most comfortable shoes are Dr Martens Langston Boots, which have a cushioned sole and weatherproof exterior. I have included these with a favoured combination of mine: Cheap Monday skinny jeans and a Topman polka dot jumper.
These jeans are actually my favourite pair, because I have worn and weathered the denim myself. Would you believe the jeans were originally a dark indigo with no fading? Several months and one wash later, they have a natural timeworn look that many retailers would recreate in a factory and sell for £30 and more.

Reggie Yates x Burton Collection
T-shirts are a trend which will never get old. Casual and versatile, a crew-neck t-shirt is ideal for a day in the sunshine and a night on the dancefloor. And this summer, Burton has collaborated with British radio DJ and television presenter Reggie Yates to release an exclusive capsule collection of printed t-shirts and vests.

This new collection features prints from Reggie's own photographs, each of which reflects a personal moment in his life, including trips to Cuba, Kenya, and various music festivals. Although a t-shirt collaboration may not seem so glamorous at face value, Reggie has fast become a male style icon in his own right, and the images he has chosen for this collection make for stylish prints.

The print featured here is a monochrome mosh-pit scene, reflecting the summer festival season. The t-shirt is made from polyester, much like a sports t-shirt, and therefore has a shimmer and soft texture similar to the sports luxe trend. The striking print can be seen on both the front and reverse for optimal visibility.

Special thanks to my sister's boyfriend, James Whipp, for modelling the Reggie Yates x Burton t-shirt. As much as I like a printed tee, I simply don't have the physique to make a short-sleeved garment look sexy. Nor do I have the motivation to visit a gym and rectify this problem. Perhaps I should work on that?

Dress-down menswear: Outfit #1
Now and then, I do like to show my face on my blog. I get sent some really cool products to feature and review, but I rarely have the time - or a fellow photographer - to do shoots. However, with two or three personal style blog posts to organise, it was about time I got back into the swing of using a self-timer.

| NEXT TEAL CHINOS / RIVER ISLAND DESERT BOOTS / TOPMAN LONG SLEEVE T-SHIRT |
Since most people tend to see me dressed smartly, I am challenging myself to photograph a number of more casual outfits, ones which you might find me wearing at home, or going for a wander around my hometown. The first incorporates my adoration for colour, with slim-leg chinos in a rich teal blue. My suede desert boots are not designed for long walks, but they are comfortable enough for a casual jaunt.
I should also note that this blog post is the first time many of my readers get to see me in my new glasses. Though I am only slightly short-sighted, I do need my glasses to navigate the roads safely, shoot street style, and to see the world in HD quality. After trying on all the frames in Specsavers, this black design proved the most stylish, which was surprising, given they were the cheapest at £25.

Mr Porter garden party
The spring/summer season of London Collections: Men concluded with the "Mr Porter Presents" party in the courtyard of the In & Out Club, where guests could unwind after three days of menswear showcases. A pergola was set up in the centre of the venue space, under which models were dressed in designs by J.W. Anderson, Christopher Raeburn and Agi & Sam. Drinks flowed, the delicious canapés kept on coming, and there was a second chance to indulge in a sweet treat from the Mr Porter ice cream cart. You can see more photos from the party at: GarçonJon.com.
