Last Wednesday, before we scooted off to the Company Rising Stars Party, Maddy and I popped by one of my favourite picturesque streets for a few photos. Gender differences aside, our individual tastes in fashion are mighty similar, which is probably why Maddy enjoys "borrowing" my clothes. For our newest his-and-hers feature, we chose to style shoes from the men's and women's collections at Daniel Footwear, while maintaining a simple yet spruce look for summer.

Complemented by white wedge sandals, Maddy is rocking a sexy over-the-shoulder crop top and matching pencil skirt from Topshop. In keeping with the neutral theme, I have styled my tan leather chukka boots with a white shirt and Criminal Damage skinny jeans, both from ASOS. Summer need not always demand bright and bold colours, as suggested by Maddy's current fondness for all things white. That said, I am sure more of her vibrant "New Girl" dresses are dying to make their début.

Cleanly dressed and spying the LC:M hullabaloo, I presumed Evan was patiently waiting for a show at Victoria House. I was surprised to learn he was actually on holiday from Holland, unofficially making him one of the London best-dressed tourists. He wears a Scotch & Soda shirt and jacket, tailored trousers, and Armani shoes.

Company Style Blogger Awards

Suppose we took one magazine, one-hundred-and-something style conscious bloggers, copious quantities of free booze, and an unassuming warehouse in sunny East London. Voilà! Welcome to the Company Magazine Style Blogger Awards, where there are as many DSLR cameras as there are high heels.

Having been shortlisted for "Best Male Blogger" in this year's awards, I was delighted to receive my invitation to The Oval Space in Bethnal Green for the prestigious awards party. Tucked away next to the district's iconic gas works, the event space held a striking antithesis to the colourful parade of guests filtering through its doors, resplendent in bow ties, flower crowns, suits and snazzy dresses. It was a street style photographer's paradise.

I wasn't overly fussed about winning or losing; I just love any excuse to dress up, have a few drinks, and dance my socks off. With the bright-haired Zoe London playing plenty of Justin Timberlake, I was the first on the dancefloor, but it took much persistence and Blu Cantrell's "Breathe" to finally persuade my blogger pals to join me in some body popping.

The best part of my evening was spent with the beautiful Jo and Victoria of She and Hem fame, who were nominated for "Best Blogger Duo". Not only are these lovely Bristolian ladies two of the most stylish bloggers I know, they are also two of the nicest and most down-to-earth people I have befriended through blogging. What's more, they pose for the best photos ever.

Much to my disappointment, the event was all wrapped up by half-past ten (after-party, anybody?), but that isn't to say the Style Blogger Awards weren't the best night out I have had this year. I wouldn't mind being shortlisted next year too, just to party all over again.

On that note, I would like to offer my thanks to everybody who voted for me in this year's awards. As you may have guessed, I didn't win, nevertheless it means so much to me that you wonderful people enjoy following my fashion features and street style shenanigans. It doesn't end here!

Crazy for navy

I'm having a navy blue moment. The colour bleeds from my wardrobe like ink oozes from a fountain pen, all over my shoes, shirts, jumpers and jackets. I confess it isn't the most exciting shade of blue for summer; its versatility makes it a very safe colour to wear. As part of an "Ask The Expert" campaign for Tokyo Laundry, I even wrote how men should swap the neutrality of navy for brighter hues. But in all honesty, navy needn't be so plain. You just have to find fun ways of styling it - say a polka dot shirt and two-tone brogues?

Until the menswear industry rectifies the obvious shortage of cat print shirts, polka dots are my favourite pattern right now. They make an outfit more playful and light-hearted, perfect for summer frolics. This shirt in particular, from ASOS, was one of two polka dot pieces I picked up during my usual late-night shopping antics. The fabric is soft and light, and I can't get enough of its spotty charm.

Another of my greatest loves are wingtip brogues, arguably the most dapper footwear in existence. Though I probably have more than enough shoes as it is, I thought to myself, how much could it hurt to have two more? (When I reach my fiftieth pair, I shall have to ponder that question again.)

Since finding affinity with vintage-inspired fashions, I have longed for a pair of two-tone brogues. I imagined my first might be a classic black and white, but these blue suede and leather brogues from Clarks are even snazzier. Smart yet colourful, with a retro aesthetic. I especially admire the contrasting welt with white stitching, accentuating the sleek shape of the shoe, as well as the rich blues. The best part, however, is the cushioned sole, which so happens to make these shoes astonishingly comfortable.

Mixology

Cocktails are such a blogger cliché. Whichever blogger party I might find myself at, there is always some sort of colourful concoction floating around the room, fuelling the party buzz with its deceptively potent recipe. I suppose cocktails reflect us style bloggers, in the sense that, like an expert mixologist blends and balances different ingredients to create an appetising drink, we mix up fashions to create a visually appetising style.

Clichés aside, I do love a cocktail. And having sampled so many tasty recipes, I thought I would try my hand at mixology. For my birthday, my stepsister and her boyfriend very kindly bought me a cocktail shaker and the ridiculously useful Bar10der, a multi-purpose contraption, much like a giant Swiss knife, with all the instruments I need to zest, muddle and whatever else. I am a long way off from juggling bottles, mind, but I can shake ice like there is no tomorrow.

Of course, mixology can be an expensive craft, especially when you rack up more than a dozen bottles of spirits and liqueurs, not to mention the mixers, syrups, and all the other fiddly ingredient that go into these marvellous medleys. I can envision my bedroom will become a battle for space between this new hobby and my ever expanding collection of shoes. But which side will win?

I compare mixing cocktails to styling outfits, but in reality, my favourite drinks are not nearly as flamboyant as my taste in fashion. Whilst I love playing around with different recipes, simpler mixes are so much more drinkable. Amaretto, coffee liqueur and Irish cream, served over ice, is a personal favourite. "Dark And Stormy", made with dark rum and ginger beer, is also a sure winner. Even a Southern Comfort, lime and soda makes for a delectable refreshment on a summer evening.

I can't get enough of this girl, and neither can the fashion industry. Over the weekend, Twinks was presented with Graduate Fashion Week's first Fashion Styling and Creative Direction Award, and I could not be more thrilled for her. Bright and beautiful as ever, she wears an Oh My Honey dress, jewellery by Love From Hetty & Dave, and headpiece from her own millinery collection. Congratulations, Twinks!
