Lewis is the general manager at Fernandez & Wells café at Somerset House. He is also starting out a new venture as a singer-songwriter. He wears Superga trainers, trousers from a boutique in Victoria, a Gap t-shirt, and his military jacket is genuine Royal Marines dress uniform. I was mightily impressed by his dapper beard.

Mawi jewellery SS14

I adore this dark and monochrome collection by Mawi. It falls in deep contrast with their spring/summer pieces from this year, which exhibited vibrant jewels and neon casting. Mawi describe their 'Metropolis' collection as "über-futuristic", undoubtedly because of the industrialised aesthetic and metallic tones. Encrusted chokers, chain-link bracelets, robotic earrings and heavy-set cuffs connote power and luxury, that which is befitting of a mysterious and perhaps chaotic futurescape.

Girls Who Read, Farringdon Station

Only days after filming 'Girls Who Read', I came across a real-life "girl who reads" outside Faringdon Station. Morgan was very much absorbed in her book, 'Slaughterhouse-Five' by Kurt Vonnegut, almost as if she were oblivious to the rush hour commuters passing by her. I'd like to think this particular photo captures that very peacefulness of losing oneself in a book. Morgan wears shoes from John Lewis, an Urban Outfitters hat, Tara Starlet dress, Jarlo coat, Ray Ban glasses, and her leather satchel is from Bolivia.

#AmexInsiders, Somerset House

Lucy and Jean-Pierre are two of the #AmexInsiders team, whose role as concierges is to assist the guests at London Fashion Week. This season, designer Christopher Raeburn has collaborated with American Express by providing the team with garments from his SS14 collections, "Sandstorm" and "Mirage".

Emma Louise Layla is a London-based fashion blogger. Her vibrant outfit includes an ASOS dress, Alexander McQueen shoes, and a Pieces bag. Remarkably, the lollipop she acquired from a previous fashion show is the same shade of blue as her Hobbs hat.

Ekaterina Kukhareva SS14

The newest collection by knitwear designer Ekaterina Kukhareva is seemingly inspired by the oriental. The pastel garments hold resemblance to those worn by Japanese geisha girls, including a contemporary twist on the traditional kimono. Each look was completed with a beautiful Lara Jensen headpiece, dashed with spring blossom.

The presentation space had been stylised as a Zen garden to reflect Ekaterina's Japanese influences. In contrast to the hectic lifestyle of London Fashion Week, the overall mood of the spring/summer showcase was calm and serene. It was a comfort to be able to slow down and appreciate the details of the collection, rather than to see only a short glimpse of patterned fabric on a runway.
