American Hustle with a peppering of Motown - the AW16 collection by Baartmans and Siegel is a 70s-inspired spectacle, dominated by camel coats, cosy furs and pinstripe tailoring. As I explored the ensembles up-close, the mix of male and female models threw confusion as to whether I was viewing two closely co-ordinated collections, or rather an extremely versatile menswear line.
Whatever the case, it was altogether impossible to ignore the artistry of the collection that comes from strategic layering and a striking mix of print and fabric. Wool overcoats and fur-lined bomber jackets take the top spot for winter staples, smart wide-leg trousers fall over Converse Chuck Taylors, and the natural pairing of fur coats and Fan Optics sunglasses oozes 70s glamour.
