Kalissi AW19

Vibrant and playful are two such words I'd associate with womenswear label Kalissi after watching the AW19 collection sashay along the Fashion Scout runway. Loud colours and patterns dominate the quirky and extrovert designs by Christina Hrdlicka, complemented by fun and fanciful details like frilled cuffs, satin headscarves, and pearl embellishment.

In keeping with Kalissi's extroverted character, two of my favourite styles from the "Roial" collection appear in deep antithesis with each other, yet share a likeness in their vivid hues. The first, pictured immediately above, boasts a distinctly tropical flair in its floral print and palette of pink, orange and teal; more suited perhaps to a winter close to the equator. Whereas the second style, pictured beneath, is ostensibly Russian in its woolly coat and faux-fur cossack, albeit this particular ensemble would never go unnoticed on the streets of St Petersburg with its clownish partnership of bright pink and blue.

As part of the On|Off showcase at London Fashion Week, The Vinyl Factory on Marshall Street was transformed into an art deco hotel lobby, complete with a powder blue Chesterfield sofa, shaggy rugs, fringed lampshades, and a hotel porter serving fairy cakes. The guests, eccentrically dressed in Clio Peppiatt, lingered about the lobby like characters in a murder mystery.

The themes behind Clio Peppiatt AW16 coalesce The Grand Budapest Hotel with The Shining, to produce a glamorous, vintage-inspired collection, featuring faux fur coats, embroidered bomber jackets, silk pyjama suits and sequin dresses. To finish these looks, Clio has collaborated with a number of equally creative individuals: jewellery designer Tatty Devine, for the covetable miniature suitcases; milliner Francesco Ballestrazzi, for the berets and eyemasks; and footwear label Streetzie, for the unbearably cute, high-heeled bunny slippers.

Barrus London Fashion Week Party

As ever, London Fashion Week was exhausting. And after a day of dashing between fashion shows, it may seem counterproductive to then burn what little energy I might have left by going out partying. But surely, if you were invited to a swanky after-party with a killer DJ set and Moët on tap, wouldn't you too have an uncontrollable desire to dance with ferocity of a Zumba workout?

To celebrate the new AW16 collection by Turkish fashion label Barrus, the Rolls Royce showroom on Berkeley Square became host to the hottest party in Mayfair, where many of London Fashion Week's finest were in attendance. Glasses were continually topped up with seemingly unlimited Moët & Chandon champagne, and guests took to the dancefloor with visible fervour. (Some more than others, I might add, which in hindsight was always going to lead to an accidental breakage. I'm very sorry. But my dance moves are still ace.)
