Daisy nail art

Daisy nail art
While we may be sweltering under the unrelenting sunshine, we should not complain.
After all, this is the summer Britain has been waiting for for years. (I'd also like to think
the British weather is compensating us for all the snow we had in spring.) In reflection
of this glorious summer, my sister has painted daisy nail art in a fresh meadow green.

Stars & Stripes nail art | US election 2012

Stars & Stripes nail art
It's election day in the United States. And here in the UK, more than 300 students from the Bournemouth University Media School are providing live multimedia coverage from 9pm tonight until 7am tomorrow morning. In keeping with the occasion, my BAMMJ housemate, Maddy, has painted herself American-themed nail art. What do you think?
(You can follow our LIVE election coverage at us2012.bujournalism.info!)

Watermelon nail art

My housemate, Maddy, has challenged herself to paint nail art every week, so
you can expect a frequent feature here. This week, she has painted watermelon
nail art - bright, colourful, fruity. (Shocking Pink by Barry M, Black Cab by
Rimmel London, French White by Bys,
Jaded by Revlon.)

Cloud nail art

I am obviously not a beauty blogger, but I am fascinated by women's nail art.
Here is my sister's cloud nail art - simple to paint, yet effective.

Gold zip nail art

My good friend, Lauren, has been up to her nail art antics once again... I may as
well give her a regular feature! On this occasion, she's chosen gold zips on an
indigo base. She admits it's not as exciting as her other designs, but to me, any
snazzy nail art is worth a mention and a photograph.

Angry Birds nail art

My friend, Lauren, who previously had her Domo-Kun nail art featured on
the blog, has painted her nails today in the style of Angry Birds. It's not a full
set of nails (the two nails alone took almost two hours of painting, drying and
reapplying!), but what she's meticulously painted onto her middle fingernails
is pretty impressive. I wish I saw her more often, so I could take photos of her
other nail art ventures, which have included Pac-Man and Nyan Cat.

Domo-Kun nail art

Nail art is a small way of adding an extra bit of interest to your look. However, for
a quirkier finish, why not try an iconic symbol or well-known character? These nails,
for example, have been painted to reflect Domo-Kun - a Japanese television mascot
made famous via Internet memes. On seeing my friend's nails, I was instantly wowed.
Her next nail art venture: Poké Balls. Perhaps I'll feature those on the blog too.
