The steventai presentation is always a curiosity. Staged at the Elms Lesters Painting Rooms, previous sets have included a bright and colourful, bunting-adorned classroom for SS16, followed by a 1940s living room - complete with vintage floral wallpaper and a cross-stitching nanny - for the subsequent AW16 showcase. All the while, the bespectacled young models epitomise Canadian designer Steven Tai's take on the awkward, nerdy girl.

To showcase the new SS17 collection, the presentation space was transformed into an artificial garden brushed with Gypsophila, and the models perched playfully on wooden swings. At a glance, the collection feels light, airy, and modestly elegant - in an Edwardian "Sunday Best" sort of fashion, albeit remaining fairly contemporary. The muted colour palette of white, greys and dusky blue draws our attention to details in the texture and fabric, from pleats and pussycat bows to ruffles and roughened hems.

Danielle Romeril AW16

As my fellow style snappers stormed Tate Britain in anticipation of Topshop's star-studded guest list, I escaped around the corner to the somewhat calmer Danielle Romeril presentation at the Chelsea College of Arts. The set was minimalist, in which a laser grid of claret, blue, green and black ribbons had been weaved throughout the otherwise blank show space, to form a geometric backdrop to the AW16 collection. Featuring a medley of fabrics, fine embroidery, and a selection of colours that reminds me curiously of football kits, Danielle Romeril cleverly arranges loosely-fitted garments into structural silhouettes through the distinct use of cut-outs, some of which are accentuated by zip detailing.

Georgia Hardinge AW16

"Hidden" by Georgia Hardinge holds true to its title by applying lenticular techniques, the method in which an image is revealed when seen at certain angles. Within the pleats of her structurally splendid collection, Hardinge conceals a galaxy of stars. As the models explore the presentation space, the audience is teased with glimpses of the cosmic prints, made with metallic foils to reflect a meteor shower. The astronomical theme runs also in the collection's colour palette, utilising those colours seen in nebulas and the night sky.

Three Floor AW16

Amidst a scene reminscent of the classic English novel The Secret Garden, the AW16 collection by Three Floor presented feminine ensembles in hues of claret, plum and inky blue, falling then into black. Inspired by Gothic romance, "Curious Labyrinth" reflects a Victorian elegance with floral lace embroidery, sheer fabrics, ruffles and pleating. This is a collection that lives up to its luxury label, boasting beauty and detail throughout.
