'Girls Night Out' at Beales (with The Reason 4)

On behalf of BHbeat, I was invited to Beales department store in Bournemouth town centre for their 'Girls Night Out', with catwalk show and performance from former X-Factor contestants 'The Reason 4'.

Beales went for the whole shebang last night with a variety of entertainment from start to finish. Upon entering the store, guests were treated to the beautiful voice of self-employed musician Katie Francesca (see final photo) and complimentary makeovers from the in-store beauty teams.

The prelude to the catwalk show itself was particularly special too, featuring dancers and a performance from boyband 'The Reason 4', who sang once more during the show's finale. Furthermore, the models on the runway displayed tremendous character, giving the showcase much more life than the usual designer catwalk.

After the show (for which I had been offered a front row seat!), I then participated in a brief photoshoot of those taking part in the evening, who included the CEO of Beales, Tony Brown, and designer George Davies, famously known for being the George of the 'George at Asda' clothing range. Thankfully however, there was a professional photographer to arrange everyone properly.

As a whole, the event was a success, raising thousands of pounds for Beales' nominated charity, Julia's House, a Dorset-based children's hospice. The fashion showcase was of course my chief highlight of the evening, although several giggling girls would say meeting 'The Reason 4' boys was theirs. Unfortunately, I don't watch the X-Factor, so my lack of excitement upon reaching the autographing table for a few quotes may have been awkwardly apparent! Oh well...

But whatever the case, the evening was wholly enjoyable. If you live in the Bournemouth area, expect to see an article with further details in the next issue of the BHbeat print edition, then soon after at BHbeat.com. All photos of the event will also be uploaded to the Unlimited by JK Facebook page shortly.

Quote of the evening: "Men just need a kick in the butt. When they reach the age of 35, they start dressing like their fathers. But ladies... If you've got style when you're 18, you've got style when you're 80.” (George Davies, designer)
