ASOS boots, trousers from a Red Cross charity shop, vintage t-shirt, crucifix
necklace from Boscombe Vintage Market, and sunglasses from Camden Market.

Sisters, Bournemouth

Freya and Alanah are sisters, who evidently have similar eyes for style. Elder sister
Freya (left) wears Office boots, dress and bag from Miss Selfridge, and H&M jumper.
Alanah (right) wears New Look boots, jumble sale bag and jumper, and H&M skirt.

Safari jacket, Bournemouth

Ben's sharp style makes him look a lot older than reality - he is actually still in school!
He does, however, have a Saturday job at Pokesdown vintage shop 'Clobber', which is
evidently influential upon his fashion. Ben wears Vans shoes, Levi's jeans, jacket from
Clobber, Paul Smith tie, Ben Sherman shirt, Ray Ban sunglasses, and Coton Doux bag.

Plan for Mondays, Bournemouth

Becky is a vintage trader for 'Plan for Mondays'. She wears a 1960s vintage dress.

Vintage shot glasses

These snazzy shot glasses are my second purchase from Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair.
I bought them from 'Oh My Kitsch', which stocks a selection of vintage homewares.

I was initially drawn to the OMK stall for its collection of quaint and beautiful teacups, for which I tend to have a fascination, but opted for the shot glasses instead. I'd say they are a tad more appropriate for the student lifestyle, wouldn't you agree? I love the colourful and retro pattern on the glass.

Juliette's Thread, Bournemouth

Juliette is the owner of vintage trade 'Juliette's Thread', which specialises in reworked
women's attire. She wears vintage shoes, Primark tights, and vintage 1970s dress.

Vintage Fair, Bournemouth

Amber, from Wimborne, is another girl I snapped at Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair
during its first visit to Bournemouth. She wears Underground creepers, dress from
Topshop, coat and necklace from a charity shop, and her bag is a hand-me-down.

Vintage Fair, Bournemouth

I photographed Helen the previous occasion Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair came to
sunny Bournemouth. Her retro fashion still catches my eye. She wears shoes from
Pokesdown vintage shop 'Clobber', shorts and headscarf from charity shops,
upcycled denim jacket from Kaotichandbag, and blouse from Beau Vintage.

Pocket Watch

I bought this watch from a jewellery stall at Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair. I believe it is meant to be worn as a necklace, although by tying the chain through a button hole in my waistcoat, I can wear it like a proper pocket watch, with the watch actually resting in my waistcoat pocket. This should always be accompanied by a vintage tie.

A Rosie Outlook, Bournemouth

Rosie, whom I first met at the MyStreetChic.com blogger party back in December, is the
blogger behind 'A Rosie Outlook', where you will find photos of her lovely vintage-esque
outfits and tales of her seaside adventures. Rosie wears Office shoes, Boohoo dress,

Bournemouth's Affordable Vintage Fair

It's back! Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair is returning to Bournemouth this Sunday at the Hotel Picadilly, packed with fashion for both the stylish lady and the dashing gentleman. This is one vintage extravaganza you do not want to miss.

Once again, I have been asked to be the resident style scout for the day. If you dress to impress, you could have your photograph taken and see it published both here and on the official Vintage Fair Facebook page. What's more, you could also receive a special goodie bag and gold medal from either myself or the Vintage Fair team.

As for what I'm going to wear, however... I'm a little bit stuck for choice at the moment. I have a very vintage outfit planned for my birthday the weekend after, but I don't want to spoil the surprise before then. I have, of course, a number of vintage ties to choose from, although not enough in my mind. I am sure I will pick up a few more at the fair.

Retro clothing under one roof at the Pavilion

The nationwide-famous Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair came to Bournemouth Pavilion, drawing in hundreds of shoppers on 8th October.

Guest blogger for Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair

A few days before Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair came to Bournemouth, I was offered the chance to be their resident street style photographer and guest writer for their vintage style blog, recently shortlisted for best brand blog at the Cosmo Blog Awards.

The subsequent blog post was finally published yesterday, the following paragraph giving me a huge buzz when I first read it...

"But safe to say, our very first foray to Bournemouth this month did not warrant a jitter. With hundreds of folks out and about, we recruited fashion writer Joseph Kent [of Unlimited by JK fame] to be our fashion eyes, ears, pen and lens. Take it away JK!"

Vintage Fair, Bournemouth Pavilion

The photos below show a selection of the stylish shoppers at today's Vintage Fair. Their fashions certainly look vintage-esque, but none have been styled specifically for the event - these are the styles they wear day-to-day.
 

Fantastic fairisle jumper - perfect for this season. And it looks great tucked into 
her high-waisted shorts. Lovely hairstyle too.

This look just screams vintage, with an aged, rusty-coloured jumper contrasting 
against the newer and bluer dungarees from Urban Outfitters.

These two ladies were very enthusiastic when I asked to take their photograph. 
Two similar but also contrasting outfits, with my favourite pieces being the 
stripy printed blouse (left) from 'Clobber' in Pokesdown, and the bright red 
jacket (right) bought from a charity shop.

Another wonderful use of fairisle, weaved into the jumper, jacket and socks.

This girl is only 14, but you wouldn't think it. "I get that a lot," she told me. 
It's amazing (although at the same  time a little scary) what the right amount of 
make-up and a great dress sense such as this can achieve.

Simple and delicate, but striking with a pink blazer.

This elderly couple from Christchurch live for vintage, their wardrobes 
apparently filled with original suits and dresses from the early 20th Century.

My favourite pieces from these three outfits have to be the reddish jumper (left), 
the black scoop jumper (middle), and the polkadot dress with Peter Pan collar (right).

Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair at Bournemouth Pavilion

This Saturday, the nationwide vintage extravangaza that is 'Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair' is coming to the Bournemouth Pavilion Ballroom. From the curators of 'Vintage at South Bank', there will be over forty stalls selling retro pieces from the 1920s to the 1980s for both men, women, boys and girls.

The Bournemouth area already has a wealth of vintage fashion, so this fair will certainly be a treat. If you happen to attend, you're more than likely to see me wandering about with my camera, taking photos not just for this blog and BHbeat.com, but now also for the Vintage Fair's style blog - a very exciting opportunity indeed!

Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair visits thirty cities across the country and has been featured in such magazines as Vogue, Elle and Stylist. Their blog has also been nominated for best brand blog in the Cosmo Blog Awards.

Admission to Saturday's Vintage Fair is £2 and will take place between 11am and 4pm. I hope to see you there!
