John & Pearl jewellery A/W 13

The 'Poison' collection by John & Pearl fuses vivid colour with urban design, by weaving ribbon into metal chains and spikes. The compositions of the jewellery make for weighty pieces, but the styles are both bold and unique, and should therefore be worn in plain sight as statement jewellery. I love the contemporary aesthetic.

Interview with Joshua Castro

During the next four months, Unlimited by JK shall serve as a platform for a multimedia feature, focusing on the rise of the British menswear industry. Dylan Jones, Chair of the 2012 Menswear Committee, described menswear as a "sleeping giant", but the relatively recent addition of 'London Collections: Men' to our fashion calendar suggests that the giant has finally awoken from its slumber.

Joshua Castro Wolf & Badger

My first interview was with Joshua Castro, store manager at Wolf & Badger. The Ledbury Road and Dover Street boutiques hold a wealth of fashions from independent designers, including menswear collections by Lou Dalton, Fox Hunt Menswear and Serge DeNimes. Having been familiar with the Wolf & Badger brand for some time, it seemed a good place to officially begin this journalistic venture. You can watch my interview teaser below.

Philippa Long A/W 12 Preview

Interview to feature in Pebble Zine.

"[I want] to try to encourage people to invest in pieces that are a part of their heritage."

The other week, myself and fellow BAMMJ Tazz Gault interviewed fashion designer Philippa Long at her A/W 12 preview evening in Notting Hill. The interview will feature
in a new and upcoming publication 'Pebble Zine', which will be officially launched Sunday 30th September. Do not miss it!

The photo above is a sneak peek at Philippa Long's new collection. Tazz fell absolutely in love with this particular blouse, made with sheer fabric and a velvet collar. Other pieces incorporate an African-inspired pattern in wintry nuances of deep red and muddy purple, akin to the colours of mulled wine. The collection will be available at Wolf & Badger.

Philippa Long, Notting Hill

Philippa Long is a new designer at the Wolf & Badger boutique on Ledbury Road,
London. She wears Topshop shoes, Accessorize bag, ASOS jacket, and dress from
her own latest collection. Philippa says the design is inspired by a dress she made
last year, using material she received from her grandma.

Wolf & Badger new designers party

One of the perks to being a fashion blogger - invitations to cool parties! With thanks to designer Ekaterina Kukhareva, I yesterday attended the Wolf & Badger new designers party at their Ledbury Road boutique, Notting Hill, which introduced the new luxury labels to feature at their stores for spring/summer 2012. Tasty mojitos* were a plenty, along with a flock of stylish guests, some of whom I photographed for my street style.

(*Technically, the cocktail was a "Swedish Spiced Sunset", created by 'The Lonsdale'
bar in Notting Hill. The recipe can be found here: facebook.com/BriskaUK)
