London Fashion Week S/S 12, Day 2

DAKS London, Jesse Burgess, and more style spotting...

Although a little quieter than Friday, my second day at Somerset House was still an exciting experience. Accompanied by a very grateful younger sister, the day began with the DAKS London catwalk show at 9am followed by even more style spotting.

What I wore for Fashion Week: Zara terracotta blazer, New Look pinstripe shirt, Topman grey
slim-fit trousers, River Island satchel (minus the strap), and Topman brown lace-up shoes.
The outfit pictured above is what I wore for day two of London Fashion Week, including the terracotta blazer I bought from Zara at Bluewater. This I planned weeks beforehand, yet even then I felt underdressed among the many fashionable guests, as the upcoming style spotting posts will illustrate.

My sister, Leanne, on the other hand, had little time to prepare her look for Fashion Week (a single evening to be precise), but still managed to put together a lovely, almost equestrian-style outfit. She was exceedingly happy to accompany me to Somerset House, particularly after she bumped into Jesse Burgess from Storm Models, who was famously featured in E4's 'Dirty Sexy Things'.

My sister with model Jesse Burgess - She wore: Blanco pink top, Zara ivory trousers and belt,
Debenhams Collection bag, and Clarks brown leather boots.
The DAKS catwalk show, however, was my highlight of the day, even though I was made to stand in a less advantageous position than for Paul Costelloe. As a result, I had to switch to the telescopic lens halfway through the show in order to take decent shots, but of the photos I did manage to capture, I am pleased with the result.

After the show, Leanne and I went for a coffee, then lingered in the Somerset House courtyard for a few hours, admiring the diverse range of fashions everyone was wearing. Naturally, this meant more style spotting for me a lot of ooh-ing for Leanne.

However, whilst I was style spotting, Leanne and I were both surprised that we got spotted ourselves! Although we weren't dressed as glamorously as many of the other attendees to London Fashion Week, we were 'papped' several times by different publications, including numerous fashion blogs, the Red Bull website, Liberty Magazine, Styloko, Winkball, the LFW Daily, and The Times newspaper - a boost to both our self-esteem and, unfortunately, our vanity.

Sadly, we left London early, but the two days I had at Fashion Week are now a wonderful memory that will stay with me forever - and hopefully re-live at A/W 12 in February! Stay subscribed for a multitude of style spotting photos coming very soon.
