Star Wars Day

As many of you will know, today is Star Wars Day, whereby Star Wars fans alike celebrate and commemorate the epic sci-fi saga. "May the 4th be with you", a twist on the famous Jedi phrase, "May the force be with you", is a common greeting on this day.

As a fan of Star Wars and general sci-fi myself, I chose to show my appreciation for the movies by wearing an Empire Strikes Back t-shirt from H&M, which I featured in a previous personal style post. However, as I wandered around campus at Bournemouth University, I was disappointed to spot only one other individual displaying similar commemoration. I would not say I am a 'Star Wars nerd' (as @xSecondStar seemed to believe on Twitter), but asking around, I discovered that Star Wars isn't as hugely popular as I thought.

Nonetheless, if you were a Star Wars fan, here's what you may have been wearing today...

Or if you really don't mind splashing out, you may have purchased a replica
Stormtrooper costume for a substantial £799.99 from your local fancy dress store.

Quite frankly, I would love to own the Stormtrooper costume pictured above, but alas, I'm saving up for a digital SLR camera instead. Happy Star Wars Day to you all!
